Nepal, the land of the Himalayas, is known for its towering mountains, illustrious past, and vibrant culture, making it a popular tourist destination. Few understand or know the country beyond its natural beauty and diversity.

During a visit to Nepal in the 1940s, Sohan L Golyan found both promise and potential in the landlocked nation. He recognized the opportunity to influence the country’s socioeconomic growth by fostering his entrepreneurial dream.

Mr. Golyan had an extraordinary vision: to improve the quality of life of the communities and people of Nepal through long-term stakeholder value creation. He returned to the country in the late 1950s, to set up a base in textile and spices. By the 1970s, he had established a state-of-the-art textile mill, which laid the foundation for the Golyan Group, a company that grew from strength to strength.
